Committee of 100 Mourns The Passing Of Global Statesman and Civil Rights Trailblazer Colin L. Powell  

New York, NY (October 18, 2021) — The following statement was issued by Zheng Yu Huang, President of Committee of 100 in regards to the passing of Colin L. Powell:

“It is with great sadness that the Committee of 100 joins all Americans and the world in expressing our sympathies on the news that Colin Powell has passed away. We mourn his passing but celebrate the life he led as an African American trailblazer in civil rights and global statesmanship, as well as a thought leader in shepherding the need for sustained diplomatic engagement between the U.S. and China. The world is a better place because of Colin Powell’s contributions and we offer our sympathies to his family.”
