Recent Programming With Partners

As a 501c3 nonprofit, Committee of 100 partners with national, regional and grassroots organizations to expand reach and impact, nurture local experiences and expertise, share resources, strengthen advocacy, and offer diverse perspectives in line with Committee of 100’s dual mission. Some recent Committee of 100 partnerships and programming:

September 2024: Committee of 100 was a partner for 1990 Institute’s webinar event entitled “Teachers Workshop on Asian American Identity: Immigration History & Transgenerational Impact.”  The discussion offered educators an in-depth exploration of Asian American identity through the lens of immigration history and its transgenerational impact on culture, values, and identity formation. Committee of 100 in an active participant in helping to expand the teaching of Chinese American and AAPI history in schools.  You can watch a replay of the event here.

August 2024: Committee of 100 teamed with Documented, a nonprofit news site that covers immigration and immigrant communities in the New York City area; and Glow Cultural Center, an organziation dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the immigrant-based Flushing community and beyond through arts, culture, and education to co-host the Immigrant Rights Fair, a community event dedicated to providing essential resources, legal advice, and support to immigrants. Local community leaders, partner organizations, and city agencies, including the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, NYC Commission on Human Rights, the Asian American Bar Association of New York (AABANY), Community Legal Aid Center (CLAC), Asian American Attorneys Association (AAAA) and Chinese-American Planning Council also joined the event. As part of Committee of 100’s presence at the event, we discussed our Anti-Asian Hate Tracker, a database launched to help monitor incidents of hate and get resources to those who need it. July 2024: Committee of 100, along with McKinsey & Co. and Dorsey & Whitney, held a DEI summit with senior officers from leading nonprofit organizations and corporate DEI groups, who discussed the future of DEI, lessons learned and opportunities for advancement. June 2024: Committee of 100 was one of the sponsors for 1990 Institute’s webinar discussion on “U.S.-China Relations: Untangling Campaign Rhetoric & Understanding Policy.” A replay of the event can be found here.

June 2024: With The Yellow Whistle and University Settlement, Committee of 100 partnered to bring awareness of AAPI-hate and anti-bullying to the STRIDE after-school program, in line with Committee of 100’s AsianHateTracker.org database. May 2024: The American Jewish Committee (AJC), Committee of 100, the Queens Jewish Community Council, in collaboration with the NYC Office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes and JCRC-NY partnered for an in-person event “Strength in Unity” to fight back against the tide of hate targeting our Asian and Jewish communities, focuses on an evening of solidarity and action.
