Statement from Committee of 100 on the Declassified Report on the Origins of COVID-19

27th August 2021

New York, NY (August 27, 2021) — The following statement was issued today by Zheng Yu Huang, President of Committee of 100, in regards to the U.S. Intelligence Community’s declassified report on the origins of COVID-19:

“Chinese Americans are just as much victim of the COVID-19 pandemic as all other Americans. We urge our fellow citizens to remember that whatever the origins of the COVID-19, hatred against Chinese Americans is categorically wrong and has led to violence and death. Committee of 100 has spoken out against discrimination and racism for more than 30 years, and we will continue to urge our fellow citizens to put these horrific incidents in the past and move forward together as one nation.”
