Committee of 100 Mourns the Passing of Civil Rights Icon, Congressman John Lewis

New York, NY (July 19, 2020) – The Committee of 100 (C100) joins our fellow Americans in mourning the passing of civil rights icon, Congressman John Lewis. We mourn his passing, but also celebrate his life as a leading figure of the civil rights movement and as a champion of equality and equity promised to all Americans. John Lewis’s lifelong activism against intolerance and injustice will continue to inspire generations to come, and serve as a reminder that there is still more work to be done. C100 extends our condolences to his family and grieves the loss of one of America’s leading voices for racial and economic justice.
