On Friday, February 3, 2017, Committee of 100 NextGen leaders organized a luncheon at the offices of Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP featuring Wellington Chen, the Executive Director of Chinatown Partnership, and C100 co-founder and governor Henry Tang. Mr. Chen provided historical background for the importance of Chinatowns across the country. The Chinatown Partnership seeks to preserve the neighborhood’s unique culture while identifying and addressing Chinatown’s most pressing needs. Recently, the organization has worked on improving the physical environment of Chinatown’s neighborhood to increase the quality of life for residents. Henry Tang imbued his knowledge and experience on the power of organizing. Both speakers emphasized the importance for NextGen leaders to involve themselves in community issues they are passionate about.
