On September 25, Committee of 100 members participated in a conference on Chinese outbound investment hosted by the Shanghai Overseas Chinese Affairs Office. C-100 Chairman Clarence Kwan gave keynote remarks on Chinese outbound investment, explaining the six factors that are critical to a successful investment or acquisition in the U.S.: a good strategy, a professional team, the capability to settle a transaction, a partnership with financial institutions, establishing connections early, and winning stakeholders’ support. That afternoon, C-100 Greater China Regional Co-Chairs Wang Dazong and Howard Li and members David Chang, Wu-Fu Chen, and Carter Tseng gave panel remarks on how Chinese companies can more effectively utilize the resources of overseas Chinese when doing business abroad.
