U.S. Consul General in Shanghai Hosts Reception Honoring Committee of 100

On October 19, C-100 members and nearly 100 guests were welcomed by Mr. Hanscom Smith, Consul General of the U.S. Consulate in Shanghai, inside the Consulate General’s historic compound. Consul General Smith made remarks at the event commending the Committee of 100 for its decade of supporting young leaders in China and promoting peace-building exchanges between the U.S. and China. C-100 Acting Chairman Herman Li and members Gareth Chang, Richard Lee, Howard Li, Edmond Pi, Linda Tsao Yang , Carter TsengDazong Wang and Shirley Young took part in the reception. C-100 member delegates were in Shanghai preparing to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Committee of 100’s Leadership Scholarship Program, and many alumni and young Chinese scholars from over 10 different schools were able to take part.
