This Committee of 100’s Conversations—”Recollections, Pioneers, and Heroes” will feature world-renowned opera singer and Founder and Artistic Director of iSing!, Hao Jiang Tian.

During this webcast, our speaker will talk about how he accidentally discovered opera, pursued it against all odds, established as groundbreaking career in the international opera world, and has given back to the community through his creation of iSing! and other activities over the years.

Hao Jiang Tian, internationally renowned bass born in Beijing, has sung more than 1,400 performances of 50 operatic roles worldwide. The only Chinese singer to have appeared at the Metropolitan Opera for 20 seasons in 26 different operas, Tian has been highly acclaimed for his performances in leading bass roles at major opera houses around the world. Tian is the founder and Artistic Director of the iSING! International Young Artists Festival. His honors include the Lifetime Achievement Award from the University of Denver (2014), the Ellis Island Medal of Honor (2015), the Carnegie Mellon Award (2011), and an Honorary Doctorate from the Manhattan School of Music (2021).

Peter Young is CEO of Young & Partners, a boutique investment banking firm focused on the life science and chemical industries. He manages the firm and is actively involved in client transactions and financings. Under his leadership, Young & Partners has established and maintained its position as a highly regarded firm serving the corporate strategy, M&A, restructuring and financing needs of clients worldwide. He was previously head of industry groups at Salomon Brothers, Schroders and Lehman Brothers, a senior private equity executive with J.H. Whitney & Co. and a senior member of Bain & Co., the corporate strategy firm.

Young received a BA in Economics from Yale, an MS in Accounting from NYU, and MBA from Harvard Business School where he graduated with Distinction as a Baker Scholar. He is a CPA and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. He serves on a number of boards of directors, both corporate and non-profit and is a board member of Société de Chimie Industrielle, a leading life science and chemical industry non-profit organization and on the Editorial Advisory Board of Pharmaceutical Executive.
