Next Generation Leaders Development Program

Asian Americans are the most educated group in the U.S. workforce and comprise 12 percent of all professionals, yet they remain significantly underrepresented in executive leadership, holding just 5 percent of executive roles. Cultural bias, limited networks, and industry silos all contribute to this disparity.

Launched in 2014, Committee of 100’s Next Generation Leaders (NGL) program aims to accelerate the leadership trajectory of mid- to senior-career professionals through mentorship, capacity-building, and expansive networking opportunities. It also seeks to instill a sense of civic responsibility, equipping participants to lead with purpose and champion Asian American inclusion and representation throughout their careers.

What You'll Gain as a Next Generation Leader

Leadership Development 

Executive-level training workshops focused on equipping senior leaders with the skills and insights needed to ascend into the highest levels of leadership. Topics include cultivating executive presence, storytelling for influence, personal brand development, strategic networking, and more. The program year begins with an in-person orientation that grounds new NGLs in conversations on identity, purpose, and authentic storytelling and opportunities to meet NGL alumni and C100 members.

Mentorships 

Exclusive one-on-one mentorship opportunities with Committee of 100 members and industry leaders as well as a series of virtual Executive Chats with leading C100 members.

Networking

Access to special networking events and social activities with Next Generation Leaders and the extended Committee of 100 community.

Civic Impact 

Meaningful engagement with Committee of 100 and local community organizations to advance Chinese American inclusion and improve understanding between the United States and Greater China.

Curated Learning

Thought-provoking talks and masterclasses on timely issues of particular interest to the NGL community.

We are now accepting applications for our next cohort of Next Generation Leaders from exceptional mid- to senior-career professionals who are: 

  • Aged 30–45 
  • U.S. citizens or permanent residents who have applied for citizenship 
  • Professionals with 10–20 years of experience, showing a strong track record of leadership, impact, and civic engagement 
  • Passionate about supporting Asian American advancement and U.S.–China relations 
  • Seeking to advance to executive leadership roles 
  • Ready to commit 4-6 hours/month to participate in activities and projects between spring 2027 to spring 2028 
  • Able to attend in-person NGL orientation and Committee of 100’s Annual Conference in San Francisco on April 21-24, 2027.

No. There is no application or program fee.

No. We encourage any individual who meets the eligibility criteria listed above to apply.

No. Only one application can be submitted per year.

Yes, reapplications are encouraged.

No, the online form does not allow for revisions after submission, and you may only submit one application each year.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Notifications will be sent by February 2027. 

NGLs are responsible for arranging transportation and hotels at their own expense, but  Committee of 100 offers discounted hotel rates and may be able to provide partial travel reimbursement.
