Norman C. T. Liu has more than four decades of experience in aircraft leasing and real asset finance. He currently serves as a Senior Advisor to Blackstone, an Adjunct Professor at University College Dublin Graduate Business School, a Board Member of GA Telesis and a Board Trustee of the ISTAT Foundation.
From 2022 to 2025, Liu was President & CEO of Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC), the world’s largest regional aircraft lessor. He led the company through a Chapter 11 restructuring, repositioned the fleet and portfolio, and successfully sold NAC to Dubai Aerospace Enterprise.
From 1986 to 2016, Liu was with GE Capital, including 22 years at GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS). He served as Chairman, President & CEO when GECAS was the world’s largest aircraft lessor with over $65B of assets owned, managed or on order. Following his retirement from GE, Liu served from 2017 to 2021 as Senior Advisor to ICBC Leasing and Global Infrastructure Partners. Previously from 1982 to 1985, he worked at investment banking firms that were merged into Morgan Stanley and HSBC.
Liu graduated with a BS from Yale College in 1979 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1982.
