Rick Niu is Founder & CEO of Nexus Worldwide, a New York-based global investment and strategic advisory firm. He also serves as Co-Chair of Mercury, a leading U.S. public affairs and strategic communications company, and advises Cambridge Associates, a global investment firm with over $650 billion in assets under management or advisement.
Over a 25-year career at AIG and ING, Mr. Niu led multinational businesses in international insurance and financial services across developed and emerging markets. His work centers on special-situation investing, CEO counsel, global capital allocation, geopolitical risk, and long-term strategic positioning amid shifting global dynamics.
He advises senior corporate leaders, major asset owners, and private families on cross-border strategy and frontier technology. He has been consulted by senior policymakers and global institutions on matters at the intersection of international business, public policy, and economic strategy.
Mr. Niu is Founding President of The Impact Council, a nonprofit initiative that convenes leading public and private sector figures from major economies to advance dialogue on global economic and strategic issues.
He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Economic Club of New York, and a former Kissinger Fellow at the Wilson Center. He also serves as Founding Advisory Council Co-Chair of The Asian American Foundation and as a Global Council Member of Junior Achievement Worldwide.
Mr. Niu holds a B.S. from Tsinghua University and an MBA from Columbia Business School, and is an alumnus of INSEAD’s Senior Executive Leadership Program.
