Senior Vice President and Director of the Washington Office, The Asia Foundation

Nancy Yuan is vice president and director of The Asia Foundation’s Washington, DC office. She is an officer of the Foundation and a member of the senior management staff.  As the chief representative of the Foundation to the U.S. government,  her responsibilities include representation to the U.S. government, diplomatic community, Congress, policy community and private sector. She provides senior level briefings in this capacity and facilitates understanding of U.S. Asia relations by providing opportunities through the Foundation’s 18 offices in Asia, and its San Francisco headquarters. She is an active participant in roundtables and meetings in Washington. Her activities include programming in Asian affairs in Washington and in Asia. She joined the Foundation in 1985.

Prior to joining the Foundation, She served as assistant director of academic exchanges at the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE). Ms. Yuan holds an M.A. degree from the School for International and Public Affairs at Columbia University and a B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University in New York.
