Tech Entrepreneur Weili Dai to Receive the Committee of 100 Leadership in Business Award

2nd April 2023

New York, NY (April 2, 2024) – Committee of 100, a non-profit organization of prominent Chinese Americans, today announced that tech entrepreneur Weili Dai will receive the Committee of 100 Leadership in Business award at Committee of 100’s forthcoming Conference & Gala on April 19.

This year, Committee of 100 is doubling the number of curated sessions with three general sessions and two concurrent tracks – one on U.S.-China issues and the other on Asian American issues.

Each year, at the conclusion of Committee of 100’s Conference, a black-tie celebratory Gala takes place where exemplary individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions in and around the AAPI community are recognized. The Gala traditionally draws hundreds of distinguished academics, policymakers, businesses, and next-generation leaders from across the U.S. capping off the annual Committee of 100 event.

Along with Weili Dai and Committee of 100 Leadership in the Arts award recipient Shen Wei, the Gala on April 19 will feature special musical performances by The Tianjin Juilliard School CEO and Artistic Director Wei He, Pre-College alumnus Yuchan (Melissa) Li, and the renowned Shanghai Quartet.

The Leadership in Business award is given to the person or company who showcases exceptional leadership qualities, innovation, and significant contributions within the business sector. The award acknowledges those who have made a positive impact on their organizations, industries and often on the broader business community.

Weili Dai is one of the most successful women entrepreneurs in the world. Widely considered a technology visionary, she is the only woman Co-Founder of a global semiconductor company, Marvell Technology Group. The Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) also recognized Weili along with her husband Dr. Sehat Sutardja, Co-Founder and former CEO of Marvell, with the prestigious 2013 Dr. Morris Chang Exemplary Leadership Award, selected due to their exceptional success in creating Marvell, their individual contributions to today’s modern semiconductor age, as well as the talents and expertise they’ve continuously leveraged to address and overcome pressing global issues like education and smart energy.

Weili Dai holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley. In recognition of their generosity, her alma mater named “Sutardja Dai Hall” after Weili along with her husband Sehat Sutardja.
