X. Rick Niu is Founder & CEO of Nexus Worldwide, a U.S. private investment and global strategic advisory firm headquartered in New York. He also serves as Co-Chair of Mercury, a leading U.S. strategic communications and public affairs firm, and as Global Strategic Advisor to Cambridge Associates, a global investment firm overseeing more than $650 billion in assets under management and advisement.
Over more than 25 years in insurance and financial services, including senior leadership roles at AIG, ING Group and C.V. Starr, Mr. Niu has led businesses across developed and emerging markets. Today, he focuses on CEO counsel, special-situations principal investing, international partnerships, geopolitical risk and growth opportunities across major markets. His approach combines long-term strategic judgment with a strong focus on near-term execution.
Mr. Niu works with senior corporate leaders, major asset owners and private families, and has been consulted by senior policymakers and international institutions on matters at the intersection of global business, markets and international affairs.
He is Founding President of The Impact Council, a nonprofit platform for private dialogue among senior public- and private-sector leaders from major economies. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Economic Club of New York, and a former Kissinger Fellow at the Wilson Center. He also serves as Founding Advisory Council Co-Chair of The Asian American Foundation and as a Global Council Member of Junior Achievement Worldwide.
Mr. Niu holds a B.S. from Tsinghua University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He is an alumnus of INSEAD’s Senior Executive Leadership Program and Stanford Directors’ College.
