oshua Liao is a physician executive and scholar whose work focuses on combining public and private policy with clinical transformation to improve health outcomes. Liao is the National Associate Vice President for Clinical Transformation at Ascension, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health systems, where he oversees enterprise programs using technology and capabilities, including remote patient monitoring, patient-reported outcomes, clinician decision support, and large-scale engagement campaigns, to engage patients and clinicians and ultimately improve outcomes across diverse communities. He is also a Professor of Medicine and Professor of Health Economics, Systems, & Policy at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where he founded the Program on Policy Evaluation and Learning. Liao earned his medical degree Alpha Omega Alpha from Baylor College of Medicine, completed his clinical training at Brigham & Women’s Hospital where he was a Clinical Fellow in Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and obtained his Master of Science in health policy research from University of Pennsylvania, where he served as Senior Fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics in the Wharton School.
