Anla Cheng is a senior partner of Sino-Century, a China Private Equity Fund which pursues an Inbound and Outbound China strategy. The Inbound Strategy focuses on investing in three sectors in the mid cap space: financial information services, sustainable environment and high end manufacturing. The Outbound Strategy is opportunistic. Ms. Cheng is also the Founder and CEO of SupChina, digital China news with social media which aims to inform and educate English speaking millennials to boomers, Chinese diaspora, Fortune 500 companies and Chinese in China. Prior to joining Sino-Century, Ms. Cheng ran a Family Office of Asian Hedge, PE and Alternative Strategy Fund of Funds. Centenium Fund of Funds invests in alternative funds throughout the Asia Pacific region including Japan, China and India. Previous to this, she worked at Robert Fleming, New York as SVP and Head of Japan/Taiwan/Korea Institutional Group. She started her career at Goldman Sachs on the GNMA bond desk where she completed her training program. She then moved onto Citigroup, where she started as a Pacific Basin analyst, then later, became an Asian Portfolio Manager investing in over ten countries including Australia. Ms. Cheng has a broad expertise in the area of Asian Investing into various alternative instruments throughout Asia. She brings with her several decades of experience analyzing companies, culling through and finding the best companies for investment. Ms. Cheng received her MBA from Wharton Graduate School of Business and graduated magna cum laude from the Pratt Institute. She speaks English, Chinese, and Japanese. She is a Trustee of the following Boards: TNC (The Nature Conservancy); Committee 100; Facing History and Ourselves; China Institute; and Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA). Ms. Cheng is China/ Global Council Member of Brookings and a Member of NCUSCR (National Committee on US China Relations). She is Vice Chair, Treasurer, and Business Committee Chair at China Institute; Chair of the China Project at Facing History, and spearheads TNC China/US efforts. Her past Board affiliations include: Board Chair of ThinkQuest, and former Trustee of The Riverdale Country School, The NY Community Trust and The Browning School. She has received the Legacy Award, 2009 from MOCA for outstanding philanthropy, and the Leader in Philanthropy Award, 2014 from Yue Magazine.
