Dear C100 Friends,
We are excited to announce that by unanimous vote of the President Search Subcommittee, the Nominations and Governance Committee, and the Board of Directors, we have selected Mr. Zhengyu “Z” Huang as our next President of C100.
As H. Roger Wang, C100 Chair, notes, “Z is a dynamic leader with demonstrated experience, bold vision, fresh ideas, and boundless energy, all qualities we were seeking in a President who can lead our organization in the years ahead.”
Z joins C100 with extensive experience in technology, business, education, and public service. Most recently, Z was Chairman of Yu Capital, an education-focused investment firm. In addition, he founded and led a financial service data firm that had 300 staff and seven offices across four countries. Z also worked at Intel Corporation where he rose to Managing Director and then served under President Obama as a White House Fellow and special assistant to the Administrator for U.S. Agency for International Aid (USAID).
Like many of our C100 members and members of the Chinese American community, Z is an immigrant to the United States, having moved at the age of ten from Shanghai to Los Angeles. He then found his way to Stanford University, receiving a B.S. in Industrial Engineering, B.A. in Economics, and M.S. in Computer Science. He also earned his MBA from Harvard Business School.
“We are thrilled to have found such a stellar ‘needle in a haystack’ candidate in Z,” says Mei-Mei Tuan, Chair of the President Search Committee, “being a truly bi-cultural
bilingual leader with such a broad educational and professional background, and more importantly, a deep authentic passion for our dual mission.”
With Z as President, C100 is confident about the special role it can play as both Americans and Chinese adjust to new global realities. C100 seeks to assume the leadership role that it is uniquely suited for, and deepen our impact on and expand our recognition in American society.
“We are very excited to welcome Z into C100,” says Anna Mok, Nominations and Governance Committee Chair. “He is an energetic leader with great passion for our mission and will help us continue to grow and deliver on our mission to the Chinese-American and at-large community.”
Thank you and wishing you and your loved ones safety and good health in the weeks and months ahead.
