On September 22, the Committee of 100 was a Collaborating Partner of the U.S. organizers of a welcome dinner for President Xi Jinping in Seattle, WA. The event was co-hosted by the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, the US-China Business Council, and the Washington State Welcoming Committee – Seattle 2015, in coordination with the Committee of 100. During the dinner, President Xi gave the only public policy speech of his U.S. visit in which he discussed China’s past, present, and future challenges and the opportunities for collaboration between the U.S. and China. Gary Locke, former U.S. Ambassador to China and former Governor of Washington, closed the welcome dinner in Seattle with a toast honoring President Xi.
C-100 Acting Chairman Herman Li; co-founders Henry Tang and Shirley Young; and members Dan Chao, Wing Chao, John Chen, Anla Cheng, Nelson Dong, Ming Hsieh, Richard Lee, Cheng Li, Paul Lin, Bright Sheng, David Tang, Janet Yang, Jerry Yang, Linda Tsao Yang, and Ya-Qin Zhang also participated in this important event.
