On October 20, C-100 members were received in Shanghai by Mayor Yang Xiong and Mr. Xu Li, Shanghai Director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office. Mayor Yang met privately with C-100 members and thanked them for their long-term commitment to promoting strong trust and mutual understanding between China and the United States. C-100 Acting Chairman Herman Li and members Gareth Chang, Richard Lee, Howard Li, Edmond Pi, Oscar Tang, Linda Tsao Yang , Carter Tseng, Dazong Wang, Shirley Young and Acting Executive Director Holly Chang took part in the meeting.
Remarks from C-100 were given by Acting Chair Herman Li and China Region Co-Chair Dazong Wang. Mayor Yang noted that as the city strives to transform itself into a global innovation center, he hopes the Committee of 100 can play a role in Shanghai’s coming changes and offer advice as Shanghai drafts its 13th Five-Year Plan.
