While Committee of 100 was not the focus of the entirety of the article, we want to proactively address the mention and clarify a few key facts.

Committee of 100 is a U.S.-founded and U.S.-based nonprofit organization governed by an independent board of prominent Chinese American citizens. Our dual mission is to promote the full participation of Chinese Americans in American society and to advance constructive relations between the U.S. and Greater China, relations that reflect American values and interests.

We do not accept any funding from the Chinese government or any foreign government. Our financial support comes from U.S.-based individuals, foundations, and corporations, and our financials are fully transparent and publicly filed through IRS Form 990s.

We operate independently and have no affiliation or coordination with any government, foreign or domestic.

The article relies on vague references and connections about some of our Members and broad generalizations that risk reinforcing harmful stereotypes about the Chinese American community.
