C100 Hosts the Fourth Annual Mandarin in Schools Conference

On November 1, the Committee of 100 hosted the fourth annual Mandarin in Schools Conference at the International Studies Learning Center middle school in Southgate, California. The conference attracted over 100 attendees including C-100 Southern California Regional Co-Chair Stewart Kwoh, who gave welcoming remarks and co-hosted the conference’s keynote session with Ling-chi Wang, Associate Professor Emeritus at the University of California, Berkeley.

Participants discussed best practices, methodologies, and program support throughout the various conference sessions. The conference was a valuable opportunity for Mandarin teachers, teachers in training, school administrators, and professionals in related fields to exchange ideas about Mandarin language instruction and foreign language education.
