Update on Get Out the Vote with Kelly Hu- Get Out the Vote Press Conference

The press conference was a great success!

Thanks to councilmembers, commissioners, legislative staff, college students from USC and Pitzer, CAUSE board members, Committee 100 members and last but not least, CAUSE friends who came to support our Get Out the Vote press conference with Kelly Hu!

Supported by Hollywood film actress Kelly Hu, our goal was to push and spread the message on how important Asian Pacific Americans need to go out and VOTE for this election.

We also screened the Get Out the Vote public service announcement (PSA), "The Least Likely" which stars Kelly Hu, Maggie Q, Ming-Na, Russell Wong, Tamlyn Tomita and John Cho.

In addition, we ran our other PSAs: "Sushi" and "Lunch" by Commando Films; "Nationality" by TNT Digital Media; and "FM (Far-East Movement) Supports the Cause" by Catch Music and TNT Digital Media.

The Get Out the Vote press conference was covered by ETTV America, KNBC, KSCI Channel 18, Phoenix Satellite TV, TVB-USA; angryasianman.com, China Press, Chopblock.com (fka Yolk Magazine), Korea Times, Sing Tao Daily, tdink.com, World Journal and AM1370!

Other media outlets in other markets are interested in either running our PSA or doing a story on this ground-breaking effort to get out the vote, including a film festival in San Diego; KGO Channel 7 (San Francisco) and Hawaii's cable networks. The PSA has already aired on MTV and on KSCI Channel 18. Stay tuned!
