virus to levels undetectable in the bloodstream.

“We are thrilled to have such a distinguished individual from the vanguard
of HIV/AIDS research join us to speak first hand on the many triumphs and
challenges he and his team of researchers face day to day”, said Stewart

Center. “Dr. David Ho is truly a remarkable pioneer in this field of work
and it is a great honor for us to host this unique event.”

2006 marks the 9th Annual HIV Vaccine Awareness Day, a day to thank the
thousands of scientists, researchers, health professionals, community
educators and volunteers for their part to find a working HIV vaccine.
This day is also an opportunity to educate the community about the
importance of HIV/AIDS prevention and vaccine research.

May 19 also celebrates the 2nd Annual National API HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.
It was launched in 2005 by the Banyan Tree Project, a national program
designed to fight HIV/AIDS-related stigma and discrimination in the Asian
and Pacific Islander communities in the U.S. and around the world.
Celebratory events are scheduled to take place at the Asian Pacific AIDS
Intervention Team on Friday May 19, 2006.
