Elisabeth Rosenthal
Elisabeth
Rosenthal, M.D., has been a correspondent in the Beijing Bureau
of the New York Times since 1998, where she has covered a broad
array of topics, from education to health to social trends. From
1992 to 1997 she covered health and hospitals for the New York Times
Metro Desk as well as for the Science Times Section in New York.
Trained in Internal Medicine, Dr. Rosenthal began science writing
during her days as a student at Harvard Medical School and continued
through her residency at The New York
Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. She worked part time at the Emergency
Department of New York Hospital until 1994, when she "converted"
to become a full-time journalist.
