David A. Coulter

David A. Coulter is vice chairman of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. He is the head of its investment bank, investment management and private banking business. Mr. Coulter is a member of the Executive Committee, the firm’s policy-making group.

Mr. Coulter was named head of JPMorgan, the investment banking arm of JPMorgan Chase in May 2002, adding this to his investment management and private banking responsibilities. Prior to that, Mr. Coulter was vice chairman with responsibilities for Chase’s retail, middle market and Internet businesses.

The Investment Management and Private Banking businesses are leading trusted advisors worldwide. JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management manages money for pension plans and other institutional investors, as well as individual investors. JPMorgan Private Bank creates and implements integrated financial solutions for wealthy individuals and families.

Prior to joining Chase, Mr. Coulter led the West Coast operations of The Beacon Group, which was acquired by Chase in July 2000. Prior to joining The Beacon Group, Mr. Coulter was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the BankAmerica Corporation and Bank of America NT & SA. Mr. Coulter is a Director of PG&E Corporation and Pacific Gas and Electric Company. He serves on the boards of the San Francisco Art Institute, Asia Society, MENTOR/National Mentoring Partnership, and the Lincoln Center Group. He is a member of The Business Council and has been a member of The Bankers Roundtable, California Business Roundtable, Singapore-U.S. Business Council, The Bretton Woods Committee, Federal Reserve International Capital Markets Advisory Committee, and the International Monetary Conference. He is a Trustee of Carnegie Mellon University and serves as a member of the board of the Public Policy Institute of California. Mr. Coulter is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University (B.S. and M.S.).
