CALL TO UNIVERSITY AND
COLLEGE LEADERSHIP FOR NOMINATIONS
The 2nd Annual Chang-Lin
Tien Leadership Awards, honoring Asian Americans with
significant academic accomplishments and the potential
to advance to the highest leadership levels in higher
education.
- Two awardees will each receive a $10,000 unrestricted grant
- Nominations invited from the leadership of US academic institutions; deadline is November 5, 2007
- Selected leaders will be announced in January 2008

Nomination Criteria
- Asian Americans working
in US higher education institutions
- Currently associated
with a four-year public or private college or university
- Appointed at the level
of dean or a position of comparable responsibility
or higher
- Demonstrate outstanding
leadership qualities and scholarly achievements
Background
This award honors the
legacy of Chang-Lin Tien, a founding Board member of
the Asian Pacific Fund, and the first Asian American
to head a major American research university as chancellor
of UC Berkeley from 1990 to 1997.
